More Good Deeds Members of the "Bluecados," the Fallbrook chapter of the Blue Thong Society, recently presented the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary with 500 pounds of kitty litter. With so many cats to take care of, this is a great help. Thank you to all the wonderful, thoughtful member who worked to make this happen. The Blue Thong Society is a group for women who socialize and do fundraisers for local organizations. They meet once a month at Hukialu restaurant at Fallbrook Golf Course. For more information, contact Chapter Director Bridget Renners at 760-468-3181, or renners1@adelphia.net, or visit www.bluethongsociety.com A Wonderful Gift to Sanctuary Jordan Trouw, a fifth grade student at Bonsall Elementary School stunned volunteers at the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary when she dropped by with a donation. Jordan had taken it upon herself to arrange with the local Albertson store to collect food, litter and donations for the animals at the Sanctuary. She worked with the store manager, Kim Newman, to make announcements over the loudspeaker to tell customers about what she was doing. The response was overwhelming. Jordan collected over $450.00 in cash, and over 500 pounds of dog food, cat food, and litter which she was excited to turn over to founder Janet LuCore. Jordan said that she felt Fallbrook residents were “extremely generous” and Ms. LuCore had to agree. The Sanctuary says a big THANK YOU to Jordan and to Albertson's for their help.
